Odino Soligo and Paula Fleming.

Paula Fleming and Hladini Wilson get the lap counting sheets ready.

Hans Maier meets his lap counter, Susan Maunsell.

Alan Ferguson, RD of the SCMT Ottawa 24 Hour and Victor Hickey are dominated by the Fort Frederick Tower (1845) looming behind.

About ready to start...

And off we go!  Kingston skyline and harbour are in the background.

Heading out along Point Frederick Drive with the harbour on the right.

Runners have just passed the turn-around point of the dogleg on the 1 km loop.  The historic Mackenzie Building (1878) is on the right.

Runners go by the lap counters sitting in the shadow of the tower at the start of the loop.  The Fort Frederick Tower is the largest of 4 martello towers in Kingston built in the mid-19th century to defend against American naval bombardment.

Terry Martin and Tony Martin have plenty of energy in the second kilometre. Notice that Terry has cut the toes out of his shoes.
