Ultra achievements:  Completing two 100 Mile Races after friends and family assured me I could never run a 42K Marathon
Ultra I would like to do but haven't yet: JFK 50 Mile, The Alberta Ultra Series to get the "Forrest Gump Award"
Typical training week: Sporadic...I run, cycle, hike, and do resistance training as time allows.
Injury history: At Ganaraska 2005 I put out my right knee. It is now fine, but I have developed chronic pain in my calves and severe plantars faciitis more recently (which is keeping me sidelined for the 2008 season).
Favourite ultra foods: Potato chips, boiled potatoes rolled in salt, crackers, pretzels, oranges, bananas
Favourite ultra beverages: Sport Drinks, Soft Drinks
Things I like most about ultras: Meeting incredible people, doing something extraordinary, soaking up nature, time for transcendent reflection
Things I hate most about ultras: Getting up early!
Who got me started doing ultras: I wanted a new challenge and loved running around Fanshawe Lake. Then  Jennifer-Anne Meneray told me about ultras and I was hooked after my first one, the inaugural Vulture Bait run in London, Ontario.
Ultra hero: Forrest Gump, and everyone who even attempts running an ultra.
Ultra Quote: "The first half is physical, the second half is mental....You have to be "mental" to run that far!"
Other Comments: Running is like life in general. No matter how impossible the challenge seems, you have to dig deep and find a way to make it happen, one step at a time. The remarkable people who run, organize, or cheer at OUS events are all very special individuals who possess extraordinary discernment about life's ultimate meaning. These people keep me running, and inspire me in all areas of life. Running, like life, is truly "...a box of chocolates...you never know what you're going to get!" So take your chocolate, "run with it", and be the best that YOU can be!
